Our Story
Immanuel Lutheran Church began in 1861 with a small group of German immigrants. The following year, they purchased a building at the corner of 6th and Madison, which served as both a church and a school.
From those humble beginnings, God has blessed Immanuel for generations through His Word and Sacrament. Today, we are located at 10th and Lincoln, where we serve the community through our Church, School, and Learning Center.
For more than a century and a half, it has been our joy to serve the Bay City area. We invite you to come and see Immanuel—God with us.
Called Together
Scripture teaches that the Church is made up of many members, each with unique gifts and abilities. In Christ, we are drawn together in His love to support one another and to care for our community. We invite you to get to know us and to use your God given gifts as we join together in our mission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all people.

Music is an important part of our worship at Immanuel. We are blessed with talented, Spirit‑filled musicians who use their gifts to glorify God.

Pastoral Care

Baptisms can be scheduled using the Baptismal Request Form linked below.
Children are encouraged to be baptized during a worship service so the congregation may offer prayer and support. Parents should contact the church office to meet with a pastor prior to the baptism and notify the office after a child’s birth.
Adult baptisms follow a period of instruction, with Adult Information Classes offered throughout the year. Please contact the church office for details.

Pastor Garcia is available to provide spiritual care and support for those in need. This includes hospital and pre‑surgery devotions, individual Holy Communion, and family devotions upon request. Please contact the church office or complete the Pastoral Care Form below to schedule a visit.
Monthly pastoral visits, often with Holy Communion, are also available.
If you or a loved one experiences surgery, hospitalization, an accident, or the loss of a loved one, please notify the church office so that pastoral care can be provided. Hospitals do not always notify churches of admissions, so your communication helps us care for you more effectively.

Wedding information is available through the Church Office. Please note that a wedding date and time cannot be confirmed until the couple has met with a pastor. Couples wishing to be married at Immanuel or by one of our pastors should request a pre‑wedding packet to begin the process.
Weddings scheduled on Saturdays must begin no later than 2:00 PM.

Plan a Visit
We are a family united in the love of Christ. The best way to get to know us is to join us for a worship service or Bible study—we truly love having guests.
We also understand that not every guest is looking to become a member, and that’s okay. When you visit, you’ll meet friendly people who are eager to welcome you and share the love of Jesus with you—no pressure. If you find yourself feeling at home here, we would be grateful to welcome you with open arms.
