Welcome
Immanuel Lutheran began with a small group of German immigrants in 1861. The following year they were able to purchase a building at the corner of 6th and Madison that served as their church and school house. From those humble beginnings God has blessed Immanuel with His Word and Sacrament for generations. We are now located at 10th and Lincoln with a Church, School, and Learning Center. For over a century and a half we have been blessed to serve in Bay City and we would love for you to come and see Immanuel, God with us!
You Belong
Scripture tells us that the Church is made of many members with unique strengths and weaknesses. We believe that Jesus draws us together in His love so that we can support each other and care for our community in His love. We welcome you to get to know us more and use you God-given gifts to join us in our mission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all people.
Music Ministries
We love to worship God with music. God has greatly blessed Immanuel with talented and Spirit-filled people who participate in various musical opportunities.
Vocal Choir: Our Church Choir sings traditional 4-part harmony and sacred classics. Directed by Sarah Geikas.
Handbell Choir: Our handbell ringers enjoy using the many octaves of Schulmerich and Malmark handbells and hand chimes. The group plays at special services at Immanuel and other area churches and schools. The Handbell choir is directed by Kristy Fogelsinger.
Student Choirs: Immanuel Students are also regularly scheduled to enhance Immanuel’s worship services.
Pastoral Care
Baptisms can be scheduled through the Baptismal Request Form linked below.
We encourage that children be baptized during the worship service, thereby allowing the congregation to add its support and prayer in behalf of the “new child of God.” Couples expecting a child should call the church office to set up a time to speak with a pastor regarding baptism. Upon the birth of a child, the Church Office should be contacted as hospitals do not inform us of admissions.
Adult Baptisms usually take place after a period of instruction. Adult information classes are available multiple times a year, contact the church office for more information.

If you have any spiritual or pastoral needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Pastor Garcia. He’s available for pre-surgery and hospital devotions, individual Communion, and family devotions upon request. Simply call the church office to schedule a visit or fill out the Pastoral Care Form Below.
Monthly pastoral visits, often with Holy Communion, are available with Pastor Garcia. Please contact the church office to schedule a visit.
For members facing surgery, an accident, hospitalization, or the loss of a loved one, please notify the church office. This helps us ensure Pastor Garcia is aware of your needs and can offer support during this difficult time. We understand that hospitals may not always inform us of admissions, so your proactive communication is greatly appreciated.
