Mrs. Amy Jones grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Albion College, Albion, Michigan, her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and in 1991 she completed classes and was certified for Lutheran school teaching at Concordia University, Mequon, Wisconsin. Mrs. Jones spent twenty years on and off teaching upper grades at St, John Lutheran School, West Bend, Wisconsin, all four levels of Spanish at Sheboygan Lutheran High School, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Adult and Alternative Education classes at Rogers City High School, Rogers City, Michigan, and then became the At-Risk Coordinator for students at risk from 7th to 12th grade in Rogers City. Mrs. J (as her students call her) then taught Spanish, computer, and math classes at Posen Consolidated Schools in Posen, Michigan. After two years there, she returned to Lutheran education, teaching the upper grades at St. John Lutheran School, Rogers City. In the Fall of 2012 Mrs. J became Immanuel’s Sixth Grade Teacher. Amy and her husband, the Rev. Kevin Jones, Senior Pastor of Immanuel, have one son, Ian, a graduate of Immanuel.
