Mrs. Char Waldie
Teacher of Grade One
Mrs. Charlene Waldie is a Detroit native who enrolled at Concordia University in Ann Arbor and then at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, to fulfill her desire to become a Lutheran school teacher. Her Bachelors Degree was conferred by Concordia, Seward, in 1972, and additional studies have followed at Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University. Mrs. Waldie’s first teaching assignment was to our Immanuel Lutheran School in 1972 where she served for nine years as our First Grade Teacher. Then came fifteen years devoted to child-rearing and homemaking, with some substitute teaching sprinkled in. Mrs. Waldie re-joined the Immanuel faculty in 1996, as Third Grade Teacher. In the fall of 2003, Mrs. Waldie returned to her "original position" as our First Grade Teacher. Char and Dennis Waldie are the parents of Kim and Melissa, both I.L.S. graduates.
