“O Sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth!”Psalm 96:1
Music has been used to worship God for 150 years at Immanuel! God has greatly blessed this congregation with talented and Spirit-filled people who participate in various opportunities at Immanuel.
If you would like to be a part of this dynamic ministry, please contact Sarah Geikas, Director of Parish Music, or simply come to one of the regular scheduled rehearsal times to join a group.
ENSEMBLE CHOIR – meets on Tuesdays at 7:00pm in the School Music Room.
The Ensemble Choir’s claim to fame is the upbeat contemporary music, along with Jazz and Gospel sounds that the ever-changing group enjoys singing. This choir is directed by Kenneth Wright, Sr.
WOMEN’S CHOIR – meets on Thursdays at 7:00pm in the Church Balcony.
The Women’s Choir sings a variety of musical selections in 2-3 part harmony with piano accompaniment. This choir is directed by Sarah Geikas.
CHURCH CHOIR – meets on Thursdays at 7:30pm in the Church Balcony.
The Church Choir is a larger group that meets immediately after the separate Men’s/Women’s choirs, where many members of these smaller groups join together with others for a bigger sound and more complex music. This choir sings traditional 4-part harmony and sacred classics. This choir is directed by Sarah Geikas.
HANDBELL CHOIR – meets on Saturdays at 8:30am in the School Music Room.
Handbell ringers enjoy using the many octaves of Schulmerich and Malmark handbells and handchimes. The group plays at special services, an annual concert at Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw, and hosts a biennial circuit handbell concert at Immanuel with other area churches. This choir is directed by Kristy Fogelsinger.
DAY SCHOOL MUSIC GROUPS – are also regularly scheduled to enhance Immanuel’s worship services. The groups include two bands, three handbell choirs, four vocal choirs, various talented soloists, and Immanuel’s Sunday School.
